Biography | CV

Lucrecia Sodo (Rosario, Argentina 1975)

Artist and architect, she started painting in her teens. Since then, in parallel to her high school and university studies, she painted pictures and objects that reached the local artistic scene. Upon finishing her studies in Architecture, in 2001, she began to study Fine Arts and attended the Experimental Workshop on Printing and Silkscreen at the Rojas Cultural Center (Buenos Aires), determined to investigate new ways of plastic expression. Between 2003 and 2006 she had several exhibitions in Buenos Aires and Rosario. She was in charge of the Design and Art Coordination Area of the Serigraphy Workshop of the Arturo Jauretche Cultural Center. In 2007, she moved to Mexico City, where she became interested in engraving techniques and artistic pottery. For 13 years she worked as General Coordinator for the architectural firm PRODUCTORA (2008 - 2021). In recent years she has done tile and floor designs, as well as murals, paintings, illustrations, screen printing and a series of painted objects. Her new work is characterized by the search for multiple combinations of shapes and colors, using modules created with a geometric logic. In this way, she has developed a versatile graphic language capable of being transferred to different artistic techniques.
